Meet Our Watertown Dental Team

Dr. Palmquist is a general dentist with a very diverse skill set from his education and training. He developed the Dynamic Dental (formerly Palmquist Dental) clinic to provide family dentistry as well as more specialized services. Some of these services include dental implant placement and restoration, Watertown wisdom teeth removal, and in-office IV sedation dentistry. He also performs hospital dentistry at the local surgical center and regional hospital for individuals with special needs and developmental disabilities. 

Dr. Palmquist grew up on his family's farm in Northeast South Dakota. He and his wife, Jennifer, are proud parents to four children—Avery, Ella, Hudson and Brody. In his spare time, Dr. Palmquist enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching his children in their sporting activities.

Dr. Palmquist graduated from South Dakota State University with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. 

Dr. Palmquist completed a post graduate implant residency from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry MaxiCourse program. Graduates of this program receive advanced training encompassing dental implant placement, restoration and intravenous sedation. 

While he practices all aspects of Watertown dentistry, he is one of the few general dentists in the area that does most dental surgeries in-house, including dental implant placement and restoration, full mouth extractions with immediate denture placement, and wisdom teeth removal.

While in dental school, Dr. Palmquist did numerous hours of volunteer dentistry, received several scholarships and placed in the top 5% of the Central Regional Dental Testing Service Examination. He also maintains a memberships in: 

• American Academy of Implant Dentistry 
• American Dental Society of Anesthesiology
• Alabama Implant Study Club

 Dr. Rachel Clark grew up in Winona, a scenic river valley town on the Mississippi in southeastern Minnesota. Some of her favorite things to do include running, hiking, and traveling. Dr. Clark spent 6 months living abroad in Spain and has traveled much of Europe, as well as parts of Africa and Central America. She has visited most of the US and plans to continue to travel well into the future. She always enjoys hearing about the travel adventures of others.  

Dr. Clark began her undergraduate career at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA and completed her undergraduate degrees back in MN at Winona State University. She graduated with honors earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in Biochemistry, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. She then attended Creighton University School of Dentistry, graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and has been treating patients ever since.

Dr. Clark has spent the past year working as a dentist in rural Wisconsin and feels that everyone deserves a smile that they are happy to share. She looks forward to becoming part of the Watertown community and helping her patients attain the smile that they have always wanted.

Dr. Sydney Ebben is from Wilmot, a rural northeastern South Dakota town where she grew up on a farm. Dr. Ebben's decision to pursue dentistry was made early on in her life, as she discovered this passion in just the 8th grade.  Joining Dr. Palmquist's dental practice was an exciting opportunity her. Both being natives of Wilmot, a town of only 500 people, they both share a common background and have the desire to serve a community close to their roots.

Dr. Sydney went to South Dakota State University, where she pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology and a minor in Chemistry.  During this time she had the opportunity to have her first hands-on dental experience where she spent her summers serving children across South Dakota with Delta Dental’s Mobile Program, as well as experiencing dental care in Ghana, Africa. These experiences fueled her desire to continue learning dentistry. She soon moved to Omaha, NE and went on to attend Creighton University, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2023. 

Dr. Sydney performs a wide range of dental services to her patients and believes in offering top-quality procedures while giving patients the best possible experience during treatment. Her dedication to the dental profession is evident in her commitment to continuing education. She believes in the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry and attends courses to enhance her skills and knowledge to provide optimal care to her patients. She firmly believes the importance of lifelong learning and strives to continually improve her skills throughout her dental career. 

Outside of her dental practice, Dr. Sydney has a passion for travel, exploration, and staying active. She has visited numerous national parks and enjoys hiking and being outdoors, especially in warm weather. Sports, particularly basketball, are also among her interests. She cherishes the time she spends with her golden retriever, Rip, and often takes him on long walks. She dreams of one day being able to travel the world with her pup. Dr. Sydney hopes to converge her passions of both dentistry and traveling and use her abilities to give back to the world through dentistry. 

Being a dentist has been an honor and privilege for Dr. Sydney and she thrilled to be given the opportunity to change smiles and improve the oral health in Watertown community. 

 Dr. Allison VanLaecken grew up in Watertown, SD surrounded by several dental professionals. They sparked an interest in the dental field which has turned into a passion of her own.

She attended college at the University of South Dakota and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree and minors in Interdisciplinary Sciences and Chemistry. She then attended Creighton University and graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2023.

Dr. VanLaecken looks forward to giving back to the community that raised her and being close to family again. What she enjoys most about dentistry is that every day is an opportunity to serve patients and help them either get out of pain or restore their mouth to great oral health. It’s extremely rewarding giving patients their health and smile back!

When she is not working, Dr. VanLaecken enjoys spending time with her husband Marcus, daughter Rosie, and their son RJ. She enjoys singing at church, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family. 

She is looking forward to getting involved in the community through church, volunteer programs, and her children’s activities.
